Critical Public Health

Critical Public Health ( CPH ) is devoted to the dissemination of critically-engaged research in public health, health promotion and related fields. It brings together international scholarship from social scientists and health researchers to provide critical analyses of theory and practice and to explore new ways of thinking about public health. CPH encourages an interdisciplinary focus and innovative analyses. It is committed to exploring and debating issues of equity, power, social justice and oppression in health. The journal publishes empirical research articles, short reports and commentary articles. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and if appropriate for further consideration, to anonymous double blind peer review by independent expert referees in the field. Originally titled Radical Community Medicine, CPH has been in existence since 1979 to provide a dedicated forum for 'cutting edge' thinking about public health and related fields. In 1990 the journal was renamed Critical Public Health and became a fully international scholarly journal in 1998, welcoming high quality contributions from around the world.
